I’m pleased to share an interview I did for “Bring on the Woo” in association with the online community of healers I belong to, Mystics4Hire. Listen and let me know your thoughts. I welcome you, my dear readers, to share your own story of healing and redemption.

The following is the introduction to the interview:

Bring On The Woo Podcast. The underworld feels so far away when we are feeling good & healthy but when we are in the depths of despair in our soul, from there it feels just like a millimeter away. A dark start to our journey today but deeply important as In today’s story we have Maria Teresa who takes us on her journey of crossing that bridge of the deepest darkness into the light by attempting to end her own life and fortunately for us failing, so that she could then rebuild from the absolute Ground Zero to now help others. Her story takes us on the twists and turns of the trauma and abuse she suffered in childhood to the literal resurrection of her life. Maria was able to do this through shamanistic practices, therapy, breathwork and poetry. Using these mediums herself with a little bit of coffee and gelato thrown in there to boot, she is able to help transform the lives of the people around her.

Maria’s awakening path begins at the moment she decided to take her life and failed. Having been deeply abused as a child and finding herself in abusive relationships she was done with trying to live as what she calls a highly sensitive individual in a seemingly insensitive world. She said when she woke up from the hospital, after realizing she had failed to die, she heard the voice of God come to herand say ‘now what? You’re as low as you can get, how do you get out of this dark place now?’ It was from that point on that she realized she needed to focus on herself, immersing herself in prescribed therapy, discovering shamanism and beginning the journey of writing poetry, to which she is now in book 7. Maria is a big advocate of utilizing multiple modalities to help keep someone on track, citing things like sensory deprivation tanks have been really positive experiences for her or a consistent breathwork practice is vital to her continued well being. She emanates this, as quite a few people will say what a great energy she has & that is what keeps her motivated to continue doing her work.

One of the most amazing transformations she has been party to has been that of her friend, whose mother had died & energetically was trying to take over her body. Maria said that she could even see the spirit of her friend’s mother overlaid in her features. She said that it was not quite to the extent you would consider an exorcism, she & another friend were able to excise the remaining energyof spirit & move it to the light. It was a humbling experience for her that her friend told her completely changed/saved her. Maria also said that her journey with her best friend has been one of the greatest gifts of her life as well so that even though they may be on different sides of the country & apart for more than seven years, they have always remained close & each other’s biggest advocates for growth& spiritual evolution. Rainbows of hope and promises of peace

Writing brings me peace and clarity. I started Emotional Musings almost four years ago with the intention to share my life’s testimony of “Triumphing over Trauma” and thus began a journey of self discovery, leading to a profound spiritual awakening in June of 2019. I’m continually in awe of the messages I receive from Spirit that shape the words of my poetry. Lately I’ve been picking up on synchronistic signs of rainbows which symbolize eternal hope. The ability to hold onto hope is what saved my life eleven years ago after I attempted suicide. Hold on, pain ends is the mantra I resonate with and what hope means to me. I was given the gift of desperation which is what eventually helped me change my entire life. Step by step and year after year since, I have learned how to take care of my soul. Being compelled by it for the purposes of obtaining a higher consciousness, mind, body and spirit, I continue to lean into the guidance from my guides and write poems that share the promises of peace, love and joy through the exploration of my own spirituality.

Learning how to best care for my being, the vessel that contains my soul is forever fascinating to me! Season after season, cycles of death and rebirth follow the phases of the moon and dictate my emotional landscape. The lense through which I view the world becomes more clear and allows me to focus on my purpose of helping to heal humanity one heart at a time through poetry and shamanic healing. No biggie (inserted sarcasm for humor) Being able to share the highest vibrations of love with others is an ever humbling honor. My intention is to inspire others to believe in themselves, get to understand their own intuition and develop their own spirituality through self love and introspection. Writing allows to me do this both personally and publicly. I am incredibly grateful for this blog platform and for you my dear readers!

Utilizing my exra sensory perception, the space between breaths joins the life force energy that radiates inside, never dividing nor having to decide. All just is. Choosing peace, love and joy is the daily prayer. Being able to use all senses to their highest degree and form, honors my humanity. Turning off the noise from technology and the distractions it brings heralds peace. Listening to how my own soul’s music plays in harmony with the tune of nature. Concentration is on healing and the attunement of my nervous system to the stimuli around me. Seeing spirit animal omens remind me of the important role loyalty, trust and faith play in believing my being into freedom, honoring the sovereign nature of my own spirited essence.

The following eight poems capture my experiences with the Divine as I learn my soul lessons within this human experience. Opening my heart by allowing for grace and patience, surrendering to the process of ascension and expanding into acceptance of each moment as the gift it is sparks the curiosity and wonder which is the frequency in which my poems are channeled through. I am in love with the new life I have created in this last year. I can feel my dreams taking shape and manifesting into this physical reality. I have recently met someone who is very special and I am intrigued by his journey. “Knock knock” is dedicated to our Divine timing and the role we will play in each other’s lives. After I finished writing”Song #44″ I felt that piece is the completion of my newest and 7th book of poetry entitled, “My Soul’s Music”. I have already begun the poems for my 8th book which will be called “My Soul’s Love”.

Traveling into new emotional experiences, guided by soul

Welcome to the next few months of Summer my dear readers. I love the Sun, its ability to energize my being and amplify my upbeat personality. In this post I will share what I’ve learned this month while traveling the path of soul. My daily healing practices provide a clear lense in which I can view the importance of my purpose for this lifetime’s mission. Focusing on my spiritual ascension helps me to understand the many changes I’m going through and the impending arrival of new emotional experiences. The healing that I have done over the past ten years has birthed this gift.

In the final months of 2021, my spirit team began to prepare me for a new love interest and thus started the whisperings of intuitive information about this new person. I believe we all view life through different lenses, depending upon our view of self. The realization that I deserve to be loved the same way that I express love has transformed my way of thinking about my own worth. Years of viewing life through the lense of trauma, pain and suffering definitely created  dysfunction in the way I felt about myself and critically altered my self esteem. After ending and healing from my last intimate relationship, I now know I’m about to attract an energetic match for my heart. This man will view the world as I do, heart centered, open and living life from a place of truth and acceptance. His emotional intelligence is very high, he is well grounded and completely balanced.

When I tap into my intuitive guidance, I see us enjoying dinner by candlelight, laughing while listening to music, hiking the mountains that surround us, camping in the desert and simply enjoying one another’s company. He brings me flowers “just because” and we have long, deep conversations about God and Spirit. I can’t make out his face or features,  only seeing him as a shadow either next to or across from me. Spirit is keeping our meeting a complete surprise. Over this month I have been invited to let go and surrender to Divine timing by practicing patience, trust and faith. The poems in this post are all centered around this learning, growing and rising.

My dear readers, we are ALL deserving of love and kindness. Right now in our world, there is a huge shift going on. I invite you to clean your lense by investigating your own experiences and trusting the adventures your heart has traveled through. Believe in miracles because they are real and occur around us all the time. Believe that you are ready for a more Divine emotional experience and a higher love. I’ve lived here in the Salt Lake valley for almost ten months now surrounded by these magnificent mountains that absorb energy and are very grounding for me. The east coast has such a frenetic pace and energy that I do not miss at all. Here, it’s a lot quieter, allowing me to feel more of the oneness vibration, connectedness and threads. I see more and more synchronistic signs and omens. My intuitive feelings have heightened tremendously since last September. The instinctual dance of human experience paired with all that is alive in creation continues to fascinate me and raise the volume of communication. Every song is now much louder than ever before. I find that I’m feeling into a million new truths of awareness and love for absolutely everything without having to understand it. Just allowing all as it. As it has always been and will always be. Life on life’s terms. We all come here with a story to tell, a song to sing, a lesson to learn. Observing it all helps me to pay attention and practice mindfulness which fuels my curiosity, helping me to see the immensely beautiful world that surrounds me.

The heart always knows best. May this post invite you to drop into its intuitive guidance, leaving the mental chatter of mind’s stories behind. At least lower the volume of the conditioned ones it loves to rattle on about. Follow your heart and awaken to soul!

Poems are the notes of my soul’s music

Now that eclipse season has passed, I’m settling into more revelations and truths from the things I’ve needed to release. The continuous cycle of healing from the human experience as opened me up to another level of awakening. Becoming more aware of what fits the skin I’m currently in and deciding what I’ve outgrown. This is a mindful check-in, a daily practice I committed to three years ago to make adjustments where needed and align with what suits me best. I uncover these truths in many ways. Through writing poetry, meditation, sound frequency healing, setting crystal grids and breathwork. Continuous communication with Mother Nature and with my spirit team help me to feel into the answers intuitively. Allowing myself to be led by my heart and open to love. Love is the healing guide, the protective force and the truth in everything!

When life changes and speeds up, that’s when I know it’s time to slow down. “Listen and observe”, this is the strongest message for me lately. Making sure I’m getting enough rest and consuming the things that will sustain peace, love and joy internally. These are some of my latest poems for a new book in the works entitled, “My Soul’s Music”. As I continue to face the effects that trauma has had upon my being, I learn how strong, resilient and resourceful I am. These past three years I have moved all around the country six times, ended an almost 9 year romantic relationship, said good bye to my Dad in physical form and terminated the relationship with my mother. Each of these decisions have been extremely difficult and carried their own challenges and circumstances. I changed jobs three times and have written five books of poetry between 2020 and today. I discovered my soul’s purpose of being a shaman and through writing I intend to help inspire others. Healing is indeed possible and we are all worthy of love! We are the ones we have been waiting for! I’m grateful to God for lending me the strength in facing everything I have walked through, with grace and dignity. I can honestly say I am proud of the woman I am today.

My purpose is clear about why I’m here. It’s to help heal humanity one heart at a time through poetry and shamanic healing. By sharing my testimony of “Triumphing over Trauma” and using my sensitivities as superpowers. I have faced all kinds of abuse, physical, mental, emotional and sexual. I overcame drugs and alcohol and a lifelong eating disorder. I committed to healing myself after attempting suicide in 2011 by believing that I am worthy of love. My human experience has taught me to be grateful for the air I breathe and the water I drink. The people I meet who show me there is unconditional love held within every living creature on the planet. I choose to embrace the love inside by feeling my feelings. That’s how the medicine comes in, after the emotional release of energy. We are so very powerful my friends. By becoming who we are meant to be, we unpack the wisdom of  our soul. Be who you are. Our world needs your unique gifts!!

Heart opening messages

Life is mysterious, messy, unnerving and beautiful. Taking chances with a heart so full and giving has taught me many lessons. This last poem is a musing upon my last relationship. The healing from this major life change is something I’m still learning lessons from through the eyes of compassion and love. It was a long good bye that took me 2 years to completely detach from. In the end I’m grateful for having learned so much. After surrendering control of what wasn’t mine to carry came forgiveness. Love is all that remains. Always.

2022 is the year for Love

Welcome dear readers to 2022 which holds a divine number of 6 symbolizing harmony. Listening intently to my heart and continously compelled by soul, every year I choose a word to focus on and manifest all my intentions from. This word becomes the theme I am to expand upon. In 2020 it was fearlessness and for 2021 it was freedom. I saw many big shifts based on both words in my life. This year for 2022 my focus is love. Recently, I have been reflecting upon how very far I have come along on this journey which has awakened my soul, it’s heart truths and so much divine wisdom that is shared with me by Spirit. I use Spirit to encompass the many spirits I receive messages and guidance from since asking for their assistance in June of 2019. To be specific, I will name them here. Many of the archangels including Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and Haniel. My ancestral lineage, ascended masters, Gods and Goddesses, elemental and directional energies, spirit guides and animals and other high vibrational beings of light. After lots of time spent in meditation, being outside in nature and journaling during last year, I believe I am ready and deserving of my soul’s true partner. Here’s to receiving this love in 2022!

Diving deeper into my soul by slowing down is my first intention. This is the first winter season I’ve experienced in eight years my dear readers and the colder temperatures are inviting me to stay indoors and be still. Allowing myself the rest I need to rejuvenate after all the moving around and stretching that 2021 provided my being. In order to integrate and expand into all the energy that the higher frequencies are bringing in, I will begin this year by taking a much needed break from social media. Being mindful of what I consume in all areas of life is very crucial to the healing process. The more I awaken to my heart truths, the more sensitive I become to energy’s vibrations and other people. Winter invites us to curl up with ourselves, to go within and listen. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I’m grateful to have received a couple of books over Christmas that I’m looking forward to getting under my blankets with. I was gifted a star light projector that creates the night sky on my ceiling. I’m totally loving the magical scenery dancing before me in the comfort of my own space. Add in some candles and crystals to complete the scene for maximum relaxation.

I’m taking this opportunity to rest and practice self care. I will also get to work on creating the manuscript for my sixth book of poetry to be called, “My Soul’s Dance, Accepting the shadows while Embracing the Light: Poems about death and rebirth” Yes indeed it’s a long title, with over 130 poems written throughout all of the cycles 2021 brought me through. My first full year as a practicing shaman.

I’m always intrigued by the mysteries painted in the night sky. In the beginning of my awakening process, that’s how the Universe sent me messages.This poem expresses how I feel about the healing powers of star gazing and moon watching.

Living in the southern temperatures for so long, I was used to getting fed by the Sun. I’ve written before about how my friends refer to me as the Sun because of my big bright energy, smile and personality. We all have a Sun inside of us as Rumi says. I wear a necklace that has the tarot card of the Sun because I like the reminder over my heart. The space that beats in rhythm to love’s purity.

Indeed there is

Waking from the dream, seeing and feeling the truth which is love smashes the lie of separation. We are all intricately connected and are beginning to attune to this frequency all over the planet. I can see it more clearly in the interactions I have with people at the farmers market I work at part time. People are remembering that love is the only truth and it’s exciting to see the connectedness between us through our conversations. Before I leave my home, I always align myself through meditation and breath, in order to lead from my heart. When the mind attempts to take over however, that’s when I know I need more self care and mindfulness practice. Becoming the observer to the mind’s thoughts puts me in alignment with all the pieces of me so I can present my wholeness, my truth and lead from soul.

Today I was invited on a hike through the snow up a canyon. We saw lots of bucks, horses, turkeys, donkeys and lamas too! I feel so alive in nature and really enjoy listening to it’s messages while taking in the clues to this grand mystery of life through it’s cues. Nature brings me peace, relaxes and feeds my senses. God is everywhere and in everything we see. Reflecting our own light in us is what being out in nature reminds us of. All the beauty we are given here on Earth. That’s its purpose and we are here to protect and balance it by balancing ourselves in it. What a gorgeous cycle it is!

The mantra I’m continuously practicing is this my dear readers: I acknowledge and am aware that love is the truth, I surrender to thoughts that attempt to tell me otherwise (rejecting fear), I release the energy that doesn’t serve by allowing love to flood my being which keeps me free so I can let go of expectations and attachments, embracing the present, arriving at acceptance to all that is. The I AM, we all are. Love. There is no failing in life my dear readers. We keep trying, everyday is another opportunity to forgive ourselves and others through grace and compassion. Life here on Earth brings us through experiences that remind us of the truth. Sparking the remembrance that we are love, infinite and eternal. That is the only truth, everything else is an illusion.
