What’s your word for 2020?

This is my close out post for 2020 my dear readers. I want to ask you what word highlights your 2020? This question came to me while I was having a solo dance party in my room. Music and dance is my healing balm, the salve my heart needs to heal my soul. What helps heal your soul my dear? Music electrifies the beat and provides the rhythm that allows me to groove, to feel the most free and 100% ALIVE in my body! I want to leave you with a couple of dance videos because that is my soul. I have studied and practiced dance for most of my life, now I dance for fun and to heal! Today my dear Nana would’ve turned 100 years old. She is my guardian angel now and has been for almost sixteen years. She is dancing through me tonight.

So as we close out this year, I’m curious what word you can tag to 2020? My word is beautiful. I know many don’t see this in its totality when we think about this year. The big picture for me is that no matter what, I have learned from and leaned into the pain. I have embraced the change. I walked through all of it with my heart full of love. I made the absolute most of the situations I found myself in. Losing things and people and also gaining inner wisdom and peace.

Was this year easy? Hell no! Did it hurt like hell, YES! I am much better for it all as this year is at it’s end. I keep saying this and it rings so true for me, the new relationship I have with my Dad now that he’s on the other side is strangely beautiful. His presence grounds me in strength within the invisible world of Spirit. Missing my life partner being in my world daily has proven to me how damn strong I am. My soul’s journey continues. I am so grateful for all the love I have been blessed with.

I am an old and noble soul. I embrace every aspect of life because each part of this journey makes me ALIVE! I AM the hurt, the elation of love, exciting experiences, heartbreak, sadness, innocence, curiosity, failure, pain, wisdom and so much joy and love wrapped up with inner peace. It’s all available, a kaleidoscope of feelings that lies inside each of us. Learning how to bend without breaking is the journey. Remaining a mountain of strength amongst the chaos. You can too my dears, I am living proof that we can and do heal. I believe in each and every one of you. I am grateful for each one of you on this journey with me. I love each and every one of you. You are my teachers and my guides. We are soul’s reflections within each other as we walk together. We can all be birds. My Dad shows up every day as one. Find your inner bird and be free!

    1. Hi there dear Ace, I believe many of us can find communion in awaken. That was my word for 2019. I experienced a huge spiritual awakening that propelled me into an abundance of positive changes. I am so happy you can feel the love within the light that’s radiating through us all. Life is all about perspective. It’s in the unraveling of judgement, opinions, conditioning that the unpacking what truly is meant to teach and I believe it’s all love. Leaning in, getting curious about it all. Allowing the mud to settle in the water flow of life. Being still, getting quiet….that’s when I learn my lessons. Afterwards, I can put on my dancing shoes and rejoice in celebration to be alive. I believe when we feel, we heal. Emotions are just energy in motion. Our brains are the super computers that add meaning and intention to the thoughts. I choose to live a heart centered existence, following my passions and what feels right for me. I feel 2021 is going to be a continuation of the blooming for the many seeds we planted in 2020. Continue to stay curious my friend, awaken to what’s deep inside of youπŸ’—

  2. Not a word but a phrase – challenging growth. For me personally it was a year of continuing to walk through fires of extreme ascension. Seeking and achieving freedom from a lifelong dysfunctional relationship, doing monthly very deep healing along the way. Reclaiming myself. Working toward my new normal, which still eludes me. But then, for me, this has been much longer than just 2020.

    1. Thank you for sharing your healing journey with me. We each experienced a more intense year of going deeper I feel. The unraveling of layers and getting closer to our souls. I love that you shared, “reclaiming myself” for that’s just what this journey is, taking back our power. May you stand ever assured in your strength and live free as we are meant to. Much love to you always. Namaste my dear πŸ™β€πŸ˜Š

  3. Thanks for this most thoughtful posting. I am grateful for the past year. I learned and intuited so much about myself and life that I never would have seen if not for this last year. Clarity follows chaos if I stay with the experience, no matter how painful or confusing, clarity always seems to be rising. And then more chaos of course. But that’s life in the Bittersweet. Thankful for you posts. Be kind to you my friend.

    1. I whole heartedly agree dear Bryan. Staying the course, transforming and integrating our being along with the flow of each cycle. It all serves, clarity does arise from the chaos. I too am so grateful for the time I was gifted this year to put into my self care and evolutionary growth. I am grateful for our connection as well. Namaste my friend πŸ™

  4. I haven’t really thought about a word for closing out 2020.

I think 2020 is a year of ‘re’, by which I mean. Reset, reawaken, repriorities, return to the true meaning of life. Rethink, removed, release. Re-evaluate

It is about newness and just letting go of the old world and really reawakening and renewing spirituality within.

    1. Bella, I whole heartedly agree. I have traveled all those roads this year. Most of all choosing myself and making myself priority #1 . That’s why I settled on beauty because all of it has alchemized into beauty. I see all the gifts, within the pain and within the exhilaration. The ebb and the flow all boils down to love ❀

  6. Happy Birthday Nana!! πŸ₯³ I do believe she dances with you and through you. I believe my word is TRUST. Trust that the Universe has a plan. Trust that we have the power within to continue moving forward no matter the circumstances. Trust that all is well. πŸ’—πŸŒŸπŸ˜‡

    1. YESπŸ™ I love that. My other dear soul sister Cindy chose trust too. It’s a good reminder for me that whenever I feel like ahhhh things are falling apart, to remember that everything unfolds in God’s great plans exactly as it’s meant to. There is always something out there. My mentor of shamanism calls our gifts like having the “cheat codes” because we are the masters of our reality. If you don’t like where you’re heading, shift your energy and try on a different reality. This journey is ever so fascinating. I amin complete awe always by God’s handiwork. Blessed to be on this trip with you. Your support and love means so much to meπŸ₯° Love ya sis😘
